As humans, we have a remarkable vocabulary of movement as well as a capacity to reason that is unique to our species.We don’t practice the same way at 20 as we do when we are 50. Our practice must reflect where we are in our lives. Yoga is a medicine, and learning to use its many gifts allows us to offset some of the problems that arise over time. Emotional and intellectual stress can leave telltale signs on our organs, muscles and nervous system, reducing our vitality and resistance. Injury and trauma can chisel away at our inherent freedom of movement , sometimes to the point that whole areas of the body and mind can feel disinherited, breath and awareness reduced. The yoga I practice seeks to meet you wherever you are along the road, providing you with a practice that can help you feel better than ever.

Each class is student- specific, with poses, sequences and corrections that meaningfully improve your wellbeing: greater ease of movement, improved joint action, focused understanding on how to direct energy, breath and intention. Hands-on corrections, postural adjustments, a focus on the energetic navigation of each pose, and the tools necessary to find your ‘zone while helping you establish the discipline, alignment, breath, attention, and focus that are the foundations of a healthy yoga practice. Accessible to all practice levels, including first-timers. Ashtanga, Hatha Yoga, Postural Alignment and Vinyasa are all featured styles.

Try my 60-minute signature water class (pool or ocean) using water noodles , safe even if you are water-shy. A series of conditioning exercises take asana principles into water, where balance is a moment-by-moment event. We’ll work with pelvic floor to strengthen core muscles, and through locomotion and static exercises, alternate cardiovascular conditioning and strength training with a yogic awareness. Extremely effective in improving micro-circulation, combatting cellulite and toning your entire body, Aquavit Yoga is also excellent if you are recovering from surgery, nursing a wound, or contending with mobility restrictions that require effective reduced impact activity. Please come in bathing suit and bring towels, water goggles (optional), and a good supply of sun screen, water hats and sun glasses.

The calm that settles into a practice paced by breath is hard to describe. This hatha yoga class stretches and kneads, helps to reset the nervous system and balance hormone levels with a carefully-curated flow of slow, restorative poses. The class finishes with a 15-minute guided meditation. A live sound-healing component can be added upon request.

Body Tuning yoga is a therapeutic approach to yoga that expands the body-mind connection. The Body Tuning method of physical therapy was created by Shmuel Tatz and developed by Glenn Black into a yoga context.

Using advanced yoga teachings, classic yoga asanas and corrective therapeutic exercises, students learn how to unlock areas of their body where movement and life have been impaired. The result of this challenging and highly spirited yoga practice is a sense of spaciousness, awareness and freedom, improved balance, greater core strength and the development of inner skill like mindfulness. As hips open, shoulders unlock, ribs expand and breath improves, students feel both wonder and delight to see how their bodies really are instruments that with proper tuning, can once again play the remarkable and vibrant song of life.

Body Tuning Yoga is suitable for all practice levels, from absolute yoga beginners to advanced yoga practitioners. Please dress comfortably so that your clothes do not inhibit movement.

A led meditation practice will focus on various techniques from different traditions and provide clear, step-by-step instructions. Specific themes allow you to heighten mindfulness, explore and release tension and pain, improve proprioceptive awareness and cultivate a calm, open mind.

**If you are in St. Barth, Diana runs a meditation group at the Anglican Church center in Gustavia every Thursday from 7 – 8 pm. The meditation circle is free and open to all.
