The theme of this year’s 12th edition is SANKALPA.
The Sanskrit word is defined as determination, will, or an intention of the heart and mind.

Sankalpa requires us to examine why we do what we do. It requires self-knowledge, self- acceptance and boldness. It brings into alignment what is out of balance, whether it is a muscle, a bone, a breath, or a life choice.

Sankalpa pushes us past self-doubt, proscratination, excuses, habit patterns and shows us a higher path that through diligent and honest effort each one of us can access.

Learning to listen to the deep motivation that gives meaning to your life keeps you aligned to your core values.

Sankalpa introduces the shamanic aspect of yoga, clearing psychic debris from the path so we can step fully into the future we are moving towards mindfully.

Over the three-week period of this training, the St. Barth Summer Camp will give you ample opportunities to explore these intentions from all angles. We’ll be using our Summer Camp tool kit: daily yoga practice, meditation, breath work and cleansing techniques for clearing the subconscious mind. To that I add our Nature doses in abundant supply, with hikes and water work that help to deepen our understanding of right action, right movement and discovery.

Applying certain skills and techniques to our yoga practice and meditation allow us to have a granular understanding of poses, breath and wellness practices. Through self-observation and mindfulness, we can truly break new ground.

As in past editions, I’ll be leading classes every day. I’ll be joined for the second consecutive year by guest teacher Santhanam Nirhasan, a veteran yogi from India who brings his extensive experience, discipline and humor to the asana practice. Sound therapist and Janzu master Greg Bosc, who also provides our musical journeys, will also be part of the program.

Dr. Sundar Balasubraminian, a yoga teacher and cell biologist who has been doing some ground breaking research on how chanting and sequenced breathing can positively affect.

biomarkers that lead to improved health, and in some cases, drug-free healing will also be joining me to teach his method. He’ll be a featured guest of the Saint Barth Yoga Festival I’ll be organizing with Loana Junco and the support of the Collectivité and the St. Barth Yoga & Wellness Association.

You can step into the program at any time you want and immerse yourself in a wonderful, vibrant and international community of people from around the island and around the world.
