It’s a new season and group classes have once again started in my  yoga studio at Venus Health & Beauty Spa in  the heart of Gustavia, on my favorite island,  St. Barth.

Group practice is a magical opportunity to deepen your understanding of the poses and investigating what comes up in your mind and body as you do. This constant play of awareness, of balance, and of breath is yoga’s  subtle craft. Like most endeavours, it  requires steadfastness, patience and practice to improve.  We use one another to learn from as well, supporting our efforts through partner work, observation and sharing.

Join us for a wonderful new season of yoga and meditation!

The 2016-2017 schedule is much like last year. I am offering 11 group classes per week, plus one meditation circle.

We meet for morning practice every day except Sunday  from 7 am – 8:15 am.

I teach a more dynamic series on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:15 pm to 2:30 pm, but all levels are welcome.

On Tuesday and Friday night, I lead a Yoga Zen class from 7:30 pm- 8:30 pm.  This particular class requires a reservation.

I combine styles to present both dynamic and more static approaches to each pose. I like to develop neurological and motor skills that help to break down a pose, understand its foundation, its external and internal movement, and the direction and flow of energy that the particular architecture of the pose indicates.

If you are traveling, studio mats are available for your use.  I provide other yoga props, like straps, blocks, belts, chairs for your use while in studio.

Because of high season schedules that get pretty hectic in St. Barth, I offer the popular Aquavit Water Yoga classes less frequently during the winter season. For the month of November, the 1-hour class is offered at 9 am on Saturdays at Nikki Beach, on St. Jean bay. Come in your bathing suit, with sunscreen, towel and water noodles ( our must-have props).

On Thursday evenings, I run a meditation circle at the Anglican Church Center in Gustavia from 7 – 8 pm. This class is open to all, is non-denominational, and focuses on the meditation experience through technique, and with the help of themes. This circle is free of charge and open to all. The meditation circle is run in both French and English.
