BIO Diana Bourel yoga teacher
An American citizen with Ecuadorian heritage, Diana Bourel, the founder of Art of Self Care, has a background in Psychology and graduatedfrom the Fashion Institute of Technology in Communication and Advertising and Fashion Business Marketing.
After moving to France, where she trained in BioEnergetic work with Patrick Druout and in Kinesiology with Francoise Tainon, creator of the school “Corps Memoire”, she created the ”Coming Home” concept, a transpersonal, or depth psychology approach to personal growth offered in 1-on-1 sessions and group workshops.
She moved to the French island of St Barth in the Caribbean in 1994. Since then, she has been a yoga teacher of reference certified in several styles for an international clientele at top hotels, and a visiting consultant for several world-class properties, including Chiva-Som , Kamalaya and Cap Juluca, where she created and coordinated the Mind, Body & Spirit program.
Using the principles of some of the world’s great spiritual traditions and drawing heavily on the art of storytelling, shamanic work and bioenergetics, Diana’s transpersonal Coming Home sessions use rebirthing, regression therapy, kinesiology, shamanic healing and a variety of other transpersonal techniques as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine.
She continues to create workshop events and runs the St Barth Summer Camp Yoga Challenge and Yoga University, a 4-week yoga and wellness immersion program she created and has run in St. Barth for the past 11 years. The next edition of this yearly event will be hosted at Cheval Blanc St-Barth, a Belmond property.
Her detox, wellness and spiritual retreats are run every year and include shamanic trips to the Amazon for personal healing and growth. In addition, Diana creates made-to-order wellness events and retreats for private clients, and also offers team-building services to businesses looking bring in the concept of self care.
In St. Barth, she offers private yoga instruction on site at hotel, yacht, or villa locations, 1-to-1 transpersonal personal development sessions . She is also a resident yoga teacher and transpersonal therapist at the spa Excellence des Sens by Christophe Marchesseau, located at the Cour Vendôme in Gustavia.
She is certified yoga teacher in Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, Body Tuning with Glenn Black, and Vinyasa.
Trilingual, Diana teaches and consults in English, French and Spanish.
